I love photographing weddings where the focus is on the incredible act of marriage being celebrated with family and friends, this was one of those weddings, it was not pretentious, it wasn’t about putting on a show, this was a day Mark & Juliet shared with friends and family. The Natal Midlands, with it’s moody skies, lush landscapes and cool evenings provided the perfect backdrop for a celebration filled with warmth and love. Corrie-Lynn Farm is a rambling and rustic farm full of character and able to wonderfully facilitate such a wedding.

I love Mark & Juliet’s story, how they met and ended up getting married in the Midlands. Here is the version mentioned in their invites…

1990’s – He liked rocks, she didn’t like him. 2005 – He went to London, she went to London. He did his thing, she did her thing. He came home a few times, she decided to come home for good. 2012 -But then, after a decade of silence, he got hold of her, and her plans changed (with some persuasion).  2013 – He found a rock she liked, she said yes. And then, a celebration of the start of their future together… He + she  …

I love that… :) Here is a selection of images which tell the story of the start of their future together. This post has been put into 2 parts, this is part 1, you can find part 2 here.  :)
